Supplementary Seasonal Employment (SSE) visas

A reminder regarding Supplementary Seasonal Employer (SSE) accreditation:

• Any employer with Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) status can recruit SSE visa holders until the 31 December 2022. You are not required to apply for SSE accreditation if you already have RSE status. 
• All other employers must apply for Supplementary Seasonal Employment Approval in Principle (SSEAIP) through Immigration New Zealand before you can recruit temporary visa holders
• As of 1 January 2023, all employers must hold SSEAIP accreditation in order to recruit temporary visa holders for seasonal work. This includes employers who already have staff working for them on an SSE visa prior to this date
• It is advisable to contact your local Ministry of Social Development and Labour Inspectorate contacts before submitting your SSEAIP application.
