HortNZ releases election manifesto

Post-Covid, the New Zealand horticulture industry has a critical role to play in our country's economic and social recovery. 

Horticulture New Zealand's election manifesto has been written with that role in mind because if horticulture is to spearhead New Zealand’s recovery, the next government needs to take immediate action in three key areas:

1. Climate change adaption and infrastructure
2. Market access and biosecurity
3. Labour and small business support. 

Within this, it is imperative that the next government provides the horticulture industry with renewed confidence.  The confidence to keep investing in new varieties, growing techniques and technology to overcome current challenges, reduce environmental impact, and ensure our produce continues to command price premiums across the world.
