No evidence of foodborne transmission of Covid
5 November 2021
The New Zealand Food Safety Science and Research Centre (NZFSSRC) has concluded there is still no evidence that food is a source of or a transmission route for Covid-19.
The literature review completed by ESR for the NZFSSRC has found that there is very low risk of Covid spread from food products.
The primary transmission route for human infection of Covid is via respiratory droplets.
